Parking building at project Bioscape (Life Science Incubator)
Project description
In parallel with the research buildings on the BIOSCAPE site, SVR-ARCHITECTS designed a new car park with 288 spaces for BIOVEST. The car park is deliberately located on the narrow strip of land across the road from the life science park. Motorised traffic on the campus itself is kept to a minimum, freeing up the outdoor space for the users to enjoy the beautifully landscaped surroundings as they proceed to their place of work.
The car park follows a straightforward linear organisation, with a distinct helical ramp at both ends. The vertical wooden slats form a deceptively simple façade, with a natural variation in the texture and openings as a fitting counterpoint to the sleek aluminium skin of the research buildings.
