Faculty of Bioscience Engineering
Project description
Following a design competition, SVR-ARCHITECTS was selected by Ghent University to make a master plan and design an education and research building on the site of the former Institute for Nuclear Sciences in Ghent. The master plan provides for a central open park area with a water feature and maximum retention of valuable trees. The buildings will be located along the southern edge of the site. The first new building houses the Bioscience Engineering Sciences faculty. It provides 16.450 m² of gross floor space and includes classrooms, laboratories, offices, pilot hall and a cafeteria. This translates into a six-storey building with a length of almost 92.50 meters.
