Project description
In 2004 Zuidpoort nv, a subsidiary of property developer ViRiX from Kontich, bought the run-down Belgacom site, located opposite the station in Mechelen.
This major urban renewal project combined 26,000 m² of office space and shops. The rest of the complex was reserved for residential use. Half of the 124 apartments and lofts were renovated, while the other half was new. The housing units range in surface area from 135 to 270 m², all with spacious terraces facing south and overlooking the canal.
