Broadcasting House
Project description
In Brussels SVR-ARCHITECTS was responsible for the renovation of the well-known Flagey building, a gem of Art Deco architecture. After a history of glory and decline, this unique heritage was saved by a partnership of private companies and public bodies. The original design was by the Belgian architect Joseph Diongre.
His entry was rewarded by a jury including Henry Van De Velde and Victor Horta because of its reconciliation of strict acoustic technical requirements with innovative architecture.
